How would I go about sewing sleeves using elastic around the elbows?
I want to make my daughter a peasant top with long sleeves and sew elastic around the elbows. I have elastic thread but I've never used it and I'm not sure the order in which to sew.
Should I sew elastic to the material and then sew the sleeves together, or should I sew the sleeves together and then sew in the elastic?
Any tips and/or techniques aould be appreciated.

If you are asking about sewing the length of sleeve, then you need to sew the elastic Before you sew in the edges. If you sew the edges, you won’t be able to sew the elastic to the ‘tubular’ sleeve.
Elastic thread is a good option especially for quick smocking, etc. Try it out on a piece of scrap fabric to gain confidence, then to the actual sleeve material.
